Course description

Following the introduction of the Worker Protection (Amendment to Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, and changes to the Equality Act, employers are required to show that they have taken “all reasonable steps” to proactively prevent sexual harassment and harassment in their workplace.

Guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission recommends that training is refreshed regularly, to ensure ongoing compliance. This refresher session has been designed for management teams who have previously attended comprehensive preventing workplace harassment (dignity at work) training, as a “top up” to that training.

Providing updates to the legislative changes, the workshop will also focus on refreshing knowledge, exploring emerging workplace challenges, and reinforcing both individual and collective responsibility for maintaining a respectful, inclusive and psychologically safe working environment.

Through facilitated discussion, delegates will revisit key themes including dignity and respect, equality legislation, bullying and harassment, discrimination, unconscious bias, and personal accountability for creating an inclusive workplace.

Using a variety of interactive activities, including quizzes, case studies, scenario-based discussions and small-group breakouts, participants will be encouraged to challenge assumptions, share perspectives and consider how workplace behaviours can impact colleagues and the wider organisational culture. Particular focus will be placed on recognising unacceptable behaviours, understanding the difference between intent and impact, and developing confidence to appropriately challenge or report concerns.

Providing this training will be one of the “reasonable steps” required by Employment Tribunals to evidence that you are working to prevent harassment and sexual harassment in your workplace.
