Get to know Jodie Case, Marketing Manager at Reality HR.

What does a day in the life of Jodie look like?

Busy, varied and full of lists. I am responsible for marketing the great job that the Reality HR team does and therefore my day is filled with endless activities to help achieve this goal. The day starts with coffee, emails and checking the priority list, and before I know it I’m in the full swing of designing a brochure, posting an update on social media, sending an e-campaign, writing a blog, creating a landing page, making website changes, organising an event and generally jumping at any opportunity to get Reality HR the full recognition it deserves as a HR Consultancy whose team aren’t just going to give you a template document and have a quick chat, but who are going to work in partnership with you and help your business grow by providing a tailored HR service. The incredibly knowledgeable team really do help to make my job so much easier.  I’m marketing the best in the industry; it doesn’t get better than that!

What interests you about marketing a HR consultancy?

I was initially really drawn to broadening my experience in a consultancy environment and I was attracted to the variety of clients and the extensive topics that come under the HR umbrella. I find HR fascinating and I feel passionate about working for a company that practises what it preaches. I am able to work flexibly and have a great work-life balance, therefore I can write with confidence about the all-round benefits of flexible working as I experience it first-hand. This goes alongside other topics such as workplace wellbeing, employee engagement and so on.

What projects have you enjoyed working on the most since joining Reality HR?

It’s no lie when I say every day is different. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the team and really calling upon their specialist areas of expertise to try and enhance the brand and our offering, ensuring everything is joined up.

I have carried out an extensive brand project which I am really pleased with. I wanted to bring some consistency to the collateral and our brand image.

And then there is the website – I’ve worked hard to really focus on the user journey and assess the value of every page of the website. It’s been a long project but it was worth every second. For me, there’s still nothing better than when a sketch in your notepad comes to life in reality.

Tell us about your background and what Marketing experience you have?

I have worked in Marketing for over 12 years now and I still absolutely love my job. 6 of those years have been working in a B2B environment. I’ve always enjoyed my B2B roles, I enjoy disproving the opinion that marketing to a business isn’t as “fun” or “interesting” as marketing to a consumer. I studied to gain my CIM whilst I was working for The Fire Fighters Charity and being able to apply the theory whilst actively working in a marketing role was invaluable. I took a break early in my career to travel, this saw me backpacking around South America in 2010 – something I feel very grateful to have experienced and have such fond memories of.

What do you like best about working at Reality HR?

Of course the flexibility, which has enabled me to have a baby and a career, but also the team. I learn something new every day and the working environment means there is no work dread on a Sunday evening which is a huge bonus. I feel incredibly lucky to enjoy my job as much as I do.

What do you get up to when you are not working?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love being outside. I am happiest when I’m in my wellies and waterproof, with my husband and toddler, going on an adventure through the woods or taking a stroll by the sea. I love music, knitting and eating. I’m always on the hunt for good gluten free restaurants. And you’ll never see me turning down a girls shopping trip or spa day!
