As I have discussed many times in the past recruitment is a part of the job that many business owners and managers fear the most.

However, today, I would like to challenge you to think differently about the appointment you make.

When you are looking for a new member of your team you will start to pull a list together of what you are looking for. Very often skills are at the top of the list.

But what if you had attitude instead?

An individual with a “can do” attitude can make a huge impact. An attitude that speaks of passion, that is aligned with your business values, that sees where you’re going and wants to be part of the journey.

You can’t train attitude – somebody either has it, or they don’t.

But you can teach skills. So maybe, it is worth compromising on some skills in return for a fantastic attitude. I believe this will have a fantastic effect on your business, and really help to embed the right culture.
